It is at home. Leo Messi came to Argentina with his family to spend the Christmas holidays and expressed out loud what he had asked the Magi in his letter .

“After winning it all at Barca this year, all I can overcome this is to win the World Cup, which is what I needed,” Messi said before the media gathered at the Ezeiza airport. A clear message of hope to fans of his country, very touched by the poor image given by the albiceleste selection in the friendly against Catalonia.

And Messi is that its selection is its unfinished business. He’s overjoyed by the success he has achieved with Barca and now dreams of achieving yet another milestone on the orders of Maradona: “I hope to improve my performance in the selection of Argentina, I’m working for it. I want more than anyone to be the best” .

Leo know that his country football club Estudiantes ’stoked’ to have scored the winning goal at the La Plata in the final of Club World and wanted to calm the situation upon his arrival in Argentina. “I could not go back and let the Argentine club won,” said the Barcelona player.

Germany’s 20-year-old forward, who only made his international debut in March, scored five times in South Africa to clinch the award. David Villa, Wesley Sneijder and Diego Forlan also scored five goals, but the Müller’s three assists saw him edge out the trio.

“This is just incredible for a newcomer to the World Cup. If anyone had told me I’d end on eight scorer points, I’d have said they were kidding me,” Müller said on Bayern’s official website. “It’s an honour of course, but at the end of the day, I’d rather have had the World Cup itself.”
Müller’s performances in helping Germany reach the semi-finals in South Africa also won him the best young player award.

“It’s a huge honour to be part of a group including the likes of Pele, Franz Beckenbauer, Michael Owen and the most recent winner, Lukas Podolski,” added Müller. “For me personally, it’s terrific confirmation of the work I’ve put in over the last year. I’m delighted my great run has continued here, and I’ve really enjoyed it too. The honour will be with me for all time, and it’s a wonderful memento too.”

Andres Iniesta goes into the history of Spanish football with the winning goal for the Red delirium led to millions of Spanish. A final three minutes of the mesh manchego topped a pass from Torres. To remove the shirt showed his greatness with a message in memory of Jarque.

Andres Iniesta knew what it was like a moment of glory. It happened at Stanford Bridge in 2008 when an own goal in stoppage of the game against Chelsea, got to Barca in the Champions League final later earned the Catalans.

But he did not expect the manchego is that history reserved for a new period epic. Three minutes from the end of an extension of the agony of Barca took a pass from Cesc, he controlled the ball with great tranquility and sent him with violence within the mesh, meaning the winning goal for the Red is worth a championship. And last but not least was named the MVP of the game as it could be otherwise.

But if anything characterizes the small Fuentealbilla player is his humility. After his goal and at a time when the pulse reaches its peak elastic Iniesta lifted a shirt showing a message that read in memory of the late Dani Jarque, who died last year from heart disease. “Dani Jarque always with us.”

Crack numbers

Iniesta dawned very young and quickly earned a spot in the Spanish team. At 22 he made his debut in The Red and made it through the front door because it was not in a friendly or a qualifying match, the manchego debuted at the 2006 World Cup against Saudi.

After that game grew on Barça and took ownership in a team despite what expensive was the mere fact of going convened. In fact at Euro 08 ‘was the only player who played every game from the start. And in this World Cup only a mini-injury prevented him from repeating gesture missing only one meeting of the seven that led Spain to glory.

In the Netherlands, the manchego adds 49 caps with 42 wins, 4 draws and only 2 defeats. Although not a scorer but a great assistant, Iniesta sum 7 goals, though undoubtedly made in the Soccer City Stadium will remember him forever.

Iniesta’s “been busy” in the final

The final hero, the man who has made us world champions has assured the end of the game that neither he nor his colleagues know “that we tied.” After receiving a great pass from Cesc, that of Fuentealbilla scored the winning goal by drilling Spanish goal nets Netherlands.

Midfielder of the ‘red’ does not claim credit for the victory and reminded all his colleagues “have all done an incredible job.” He also said that “we do not know the scope that this” in relation to the reaction of the Spanish population has exploded with joy at the Barca goal.

Feeling “unbelievable”

On the scoring play of Iniesta said “I saw that Cesc could give me the pass and then went crazy.” The feeling after the goal was “incredible” as the words of the protagonist and the timing of raising the ‘golden’ cup Iniesta said “is the most beautiful of all.”

After a World Cup final of so toxic a nature the stadium is in need of decontamination more than the regular clean-up. To Spain comes rightful glory as they took this prize for the first time. The side prevailed over a Holland team that was reduced to 10 men when the English referee, Howard Webb, eventually dismissed the defender John Heitinga, with a second caution in the 109th minute. Cesc Fábregas, on as a substitute, fed Andrés Iniesta to score the winner seven minutes later.

Holland were already being rebuked prior to the final but these events were on a wholly different scale and FIFA should take additional action considering the harm done to the culmination of a tournament that means so much around the globe. The losers were overwhelmingly the guiltier party, with seven bookings, not including Heitinga’s pair. Spain’s count climbed to five with late cautions for Xavi and Iniesta near the end.

Repellent as many of the events were, talent insisted on creeping in and Spain both manufactured and misused a rising number of opportunities, particularly in extra-time. As it is, all four of their matches in the knockout phase have been won by the same 1-0 score. The Euro 2008 title, too, came with that result. In Johannesburg the frustration while waiting for the breakthrough was vast. An unbeaten run of 25 matches came to an end for Holland but it would have been better for their reputation had they lost earlier instead of tying themselves to this notoriety.

It would still be a misrepresentation to state that Holland devoted themselves entirely to wrong-doing and, in the 82nd minute, Arjen Robben was denied by an Iker Casillas save at his feet. No one can deny, though, that the victors are entitled to the prize. This occasion might bear less infamy if only they had scored earlier. As results show, chance-taking is the sole defect. The right-back Sergio Ramos, for instance, put a free header high from a corner kick in the 77th minute. The side’s wastefulness was glaring, too, in extra-time.

Still, they are to be excused for any sense of disorientation. The mayhem and nastiness of the occasion were encumbrances for Spain, who would have envisaged a wholly different type of game. It was potentially unsettling that this victory in the World Cup could be seen as their destiny considering that they had never even reached the final before. Vicente del Bosque’s side, for that matter, have developed a highly individual style founded on exceptional technique that exhausts and demoralises opponents as a midfield of supreme artistry confiscates the ball.

The flaw lies in the fact that possession can be an end in itself for Spain. European champions though they might be, the team began their World Cup programme in South Africa with defeat by Switzerland. They went behind then and a single goal sufficed for the victors. That occasion must have been prominent in the thoughts of the coach, Bert van Marwijk, and the Holland players. It can certainly be agreed that adversity of another sort lay before Spain in Johannesburg.

There had been an expectation that the Dutch would be much less respectful than the young Germany side that lost to Spain in the last four. Holland have a hard-bitten air and Mark van Bommel, the defensive midfielder, is utterly at peace while making enemies. Even so, no one anticipated this extreme conflict. Webb might well have shown Van Bommel a red card before the interval but was most likely trying to bring about some semblance of calm.

The standard medals for the officials should be seen as awards for a hazardous peace-keeping mission. Four bookings in the opening 22 minutes did not get the attention of players, particularly those of Dutchmen with their minds on anarchy.

Nigel De Jong took up old habits unacceptably later in the first half but escaped with a yellow card after landing his studs in the chest of Xabi Alonso.

The midfielder was unscathed but Spain had a fragility of sorts. Fernando Torres, out of form since a knee injury in March, did not come off the bench till near the close and, without him, the lack of a finisher is unmistakable. All the same, Ramos did connect with a Xavi set piece after four minutes and Maarten Stekelenburg was fully extended to parry to his right.

The subtler aspects of open play were generally forgotten. Spain, as anticipated, had more polish but the final assuredly did not gleam. Whatever was said at half-time did not lead to the players changing their ways. Before an hour was completed it had been necessary for Webb to caution Holland’s Giovanni van Bronckhorst. Despite being captain, veteran and cultivated left-back, not even he was above the ugliness.

The tone might have altered swiftly with a goal that looked likely in the 62nd minute. Wesley Sneijder suddenly introduced artistry with a lovely pass that put Arjen Robben clear of Spain’s defence and the winger attempted to take care, yet Casillas got his right leg in the path of the parting shot and conceded merely a corner.

It was a spell in which the Dutch were in the ascendancy. The better moments made it all the more infuriating that Webb still had to keep reaching for his yellow card. For convenience sake he would have been as well keeping it in his hand at all times. There were only three players from the Holland starting line-up who were not cautioned: Stekelenburg, Dirk Kuyt and Sneijder.

Whatever sanctions may lie ahead, Spain at least punished them by claiming the World Cup.

The whole of Spain prepares for an historic event possible.

They have been through many years to see the Spanish football team to get the biggest win in its history. Who more or less I have in your retina Black episodes of the Spanish, who now wants to put aside to stay with a wonderful memory.

10 reasons why Spain should be champion

- Because we could not play in some World (Switzerland 54 ‘, Sweden 58′, Mexico 70 ‘or Germany 74′)

- For the tragic failure into the empty net to Cardeñosa Brazil (Argentina 78 ‘)

- Because we went on our World back door (Spain 82 ‘)

- For Belgium stole the Moncloa Butragueño, the hero of Queretaro (Mexico 86 ‘)

- For a Yugoslav desecrated the “I deserve” by Michel (Italia 90 ‘)

- For avenge Tassoti elbowed by Luis Enrique (U.S. 94 ‘)

- Because Salinas did not find the keys to Pagliuca (U.S. 94 ‘)

- For leave childish Zubi failure to Nigeria (France 98 ‘)

- Because Al Ghandour stole the pass to semifinals (Japan and Korea 02 ‘)

- Because Zidane retired to throw us out of World Cup (Germany 06 ‘)

For these and many other reasons, the Spanish want to be champions.

And YOU, THINK WHY SPAIN SHOULD BE CHAMPION?

It is perhaps fair to say that there are not many lasting memories from this World Cup. The biggest stars in the football world have failed to really shine with Lionel Messi, Fernando Torres, Wayne Rooney and the entire Brazil team failing to light up the tournament like the football world anticipated. There has also been a dearth of really outstanding games to be revered.

However two teams have performed consistently well while perhaps more fancied teams around them like Brazil, Argentina, England, France and Italy have flattered so deceive. Or in the case of the last three, not flattered at all. These teams are Holland and Spain. And the irony is they have never played each other in a major tournament before.

So now it comes down to one game. But just who will win the World Cup?

Can Holland Win the World Cup?

Only one team remain undefeated during the entire tournament, the Netherlands. They eased their way through the group phases and then disposed of Slovakia, the mighty Brazil and Uruguay. They have played at a consistently high standard and tempo throughout and have peaked at exactly the right time.

No longer tarred with rumours of in house fighting this squad is united. In Wesley Sneijder they arguably have the player of the tournament and one of the World Cup’s leading scorers. He has been fantastic, running games from midfield with his playmaking genius. Plus in Dirk Kuyt, Robin Van Persie and Arjen Robben they have a constant goal threat. They do however still look suspect at the back at times.

The Dutch were not much fancied prior to the tournament as they have a reputation in the last few years of having style over content. Not in 2010, they have a real steel about them that just might see them lift the World Cup, a feat that even the great side of the seventies never achieved despite reaching two finals.

Can Spain Win the World Cup?

For so many years Spain were the much fancied team who could never grasp the brass ring and win a major tournament. That all changed in 2008 when they won the European Championship. Since then there is a new found belief in the Spanish team that they can beat anyone.

One thing Spain have done in this tournament is grind out results against tough opposition. They showed tremendous patience in games against Paraguay and Portugal respectively, and then in a game of football chess against the impressive Germany in the semi final.

In Iniesta they have arguably the most consistent international player in the world. Pique, Ramos, Alonso and Puyol are all world class players. And while Torres has misfired up until now, David Villa has lit up the world stage with his priceless goals. This team believes they are destined to win the World Cup. And this from a side who actually lost their opening game again Switzerland.

The MVP of the game against Germany is just one more reason to see if the brain of the Red already has become the world number one. There are more than enough merit to that of Terrassa has already (finally) the Ballon d’Or

Neither Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka or Cannavaro. The latest Golden Balls are gone from this World Cup much more grief than glory. The only thing that kept year after year and particularly since 2008, is Brazilian, or Portuguese, or Italian, or Argentina. It showed in Terrassa and the Euro which is the best midfielder in the world. At least I had the title of best player in the event of Austria and Switzerland.

Already the world’s best?

After this success was the mastermind of the best Barça’s history, winning all possible titles in 2009 and leading his team in the last league. No more excuses for taking decisions to issue each year which is the best footballer the world decide that once and break the stereotypes present and den, in a fair, the prize culé canterano.

FIFA gave the award for Most Valuable Player (MVP) in the semifinal against Germany and this only served to reopen a debate that is going to sound much more force if Spain finally is a champion on Sunday. In the second round match against the Portuguese also gave the MVP award. Now I have to give him the top prize. The only thing missing.

At the end of this year will be decided with the new format that links the Ballon d’Or and FIFA World Player who has been the best. Have to compete precisely against that Sunday will be measured to Spain in the final, Wesley Sneijder and Arjen Robben. If Spain wins, Xavi will be several steps ahead of the two former Real Madrid who have managed to succeed.

The floods that inundated Montevideo people celebrating the victory of the whole Uruguayan happened in South Africa today repeated again after the final whistle of the referee Ravshan Irmatov Uzbek and flags flying proudly again, but the fun and excitement gave way to resignation worthy with which the Uruguayans were the result of the tie.

As in every match throughout the tournament selection in the capital the meeting lived intensely hours before it started, with people rushing his efforts to be free at the appointed time watching television.

Thousands of fans braved the winter cold and the threat of rain and headed to downtown Montevideo to attend the meeting on the giant screen installed for the occasion on the Plaza Independencia.

Others, like President José Mujica, went to the theater of the national broadcasting company to watch football with Executive members and hundreds of high school students willing to give his last breath to encourage the ‘sky’.

Meanwhile, the rest of the country took cover in offices, businesses, shops, houses and bars, wrapped in white and blue flags of the country and with their faces painted with the hope that his country reached the final of a world championship first time since 1950.

Attendees at the plaza was James ‘The Positive’, 82-year veteran aficionado who already went to the same place last Friday when combined Uruguay eliminated Ghana in the quarter finals in an epic match that was decided in penalty kicks .

True to his nickname, ‘The Positive’ Efe said during the game that Uruguay was “going up their game” and that the Uruguayan team would win.

“The conditions are, and is the faith of the people and their safety, and that energizes and moves the hand of God, and God does miracles,” he said with a smile.

The subsequent defeat not daunted the amateur, who armed with a light blue ratchet ancient witness of Uruguay at the World Cup victories in 1930 and 1950, tried to encourage more dispirited.

“We went close but could not. However this has been very positive, we have shown the world that here there is still football,” he said.

Another witness was sad but happy Natalie Guerra, who came to the square with an intricate white makeup and blue and said that for the small Uruguay, a country of 3.5 million people, “being in the semi-final is like champions. ”

“Yes we thought it could win, but we do not. We would have come out champions, we are sad. But at the same time no one thought we passed the first stage, it was like a miracle that made it grow the illusion,” he concluded.

After the game, people left the Independence Square and went to the place of the celebration of other occasions, without much fuss but without getting carried away by anxiety.

Dejected, but not sunk, the young Marcos Efe Corujo confessed to his pride in the team coached by Oscar Washington Tabarez, who did not surrender at any time.

“I am proud, yes. It is sad, but everyone is happy because they got there upstream. It is a pity, but it happened. The boys gave everything,” he concluded.

The player took a counter flashing Germany, to kill off the road to victory Germanic and made a hole in the history of the World.

Bayern Munich striker is a veteran player who knows how to move into the area and capitalize on opportunities, as they say their data. Good finisher, best-heading and especially Germany is being opportunistic at high altitudes.

In South Africa, the ’11 ‘German has played in three World Cups in which he has won a total of 14 goals, making it even on the scorers table with fellow Muller and already exceeds the legendary Pele. In addition, only separate him a target to reach Ronaldo Nazario, the top scorer in the history of the World. And you still have to make more history World.

The millions of football fans waiting for the World Cup crown to complete by Leo Messi as the best player in the world. The most reluctant to consider the thought that Barca as one of the greats, to do something big with Argentina in a World Cup. Well, have to wait at least four years.

Leo has proven to be a genius when you put the elastic Barça who has completed an outstanding season leading his team to a new league championships and individual awards made by all those who were eligible. FIFA World Player, Ball and Golden Shoe have been his without question.

But what happens when you put the albiceleste Messi? Why not remove the magic and the class that is inside? These are some of the questions facing the millions of sports fans king, more so if they are compatriots. He is tired of repeating that the style of Barcelona and Argentina is different and also their role in a group and the other are opposites. Perhaps this is the key to its performance in a disparate and other equipment.

South Africa goes unchecked

Another reason added to his detractors is that Messi is leaving South Africa without seeing door. In five games the Flea has been unable to score a single goal despite being one of the players more shots on goal in this World Championship. It might have been a bad run or if you look deeper, that its position on the field and what it required Maradona has been the key to leave empty. And is that many do not understand how a player as lethal in the area has spent much of the championship game being the creator of the albiceleste.

The worst is yet to come because if Messi has been the subject of fierce criticism by a section of the media in his country for failing to live up during the preliminary classification, do not say now that Argentina has been thrashed by Germany .
