Cricket: a very English sport

Cricket is a sport primarily of English origin, but its real origin is not known with certainty, as this varies between Australia and England for being the first nations to develop the sport, however is said to be of English origin, due to name “crick” in that language means stick.
The first signs of the sport were in the mid eighteenth century where the ball hit bat or began to practice in countries like Australia and England and thanks to the great amusement and / or entertainment that they provided were gaining popularity very quickly.
