Texas, the new scenario of MotoGP from 2013

The new Circuit of the Americas ™ of Austin will host the three categories of the MotoGP World Championship from 2013 after signing an agreement for ten years.
Dorna Sports SL, 3FourTexasMGP, LLC and Full Throttle Productions, LP have announced the historic signing of a ten-year contract that will carry the new Circuit MotoGP ™ of the Americas in Austin (Texas) from 2013.
This agreement includes the three categories of the World Championship: MotoGP – Motorcycle maximum expression – and Moto3 Moto2.
The ten-year agreement reached with MotoGP complements the already signed to host the Formula 1 Grand Prix of the United States for ten years on the Circuit of the Americas ™, which is currently under construction in Austin, Texas.

Now, thanks to what Tavo Hellmund (Managing Partner of Full Throttle Productions) is doing in Austin, we were able to realize these ideas and are eager to start this new project together. The ten-year agreement is proof of our confidence and commitment to the future success of racing MotoGP in Austin.”

Mr. Hellmund, who has long worked to bring MotoGP to Texas, said: “We are very pleased to add the best motorcycle racing, World Championships, in our annual calendar. This is an exceptional opportunity for State of Texas and the region, and I think it is the first time in the history of motor sport in the United States that the F1 World Championship and motorcycles will be held on the same circuit. We are very proud to become a the motor sports complex U.S. international level.”

The construction of the new circuit is making progress now and is expected to be completed in mid 2012 in time for the first United States Grand Prix Formula 1 ™.
