Teams interested must state the April 29, 2011, the first day of the GP of Portugal, in order to receive further information. The teams considered eligible will receive a document with additional information and eligibility.
Coinciding with the first day of the Monster Energy GP of France (Friday, 13 May) the teams still wishing to participate must submit a formal application supported by the detailed information requested in the document.
All applications will be reviewed in Le Mans and the teams will be notified of acceptance, rejection or pending status. Then be issued a provisional list of registered teams.

The next step in the process of accepted teams will be presenting a security deposit in the IRTA, to take place on Friday June 3, 2011 (first day of Aperol GP of Catalunya). It was from that moment when you publish the final list of accepted teams that make up the grid in the MotoGP World Championship 2012.

Following the announcement on Tuesday that the Tour of the Americas ™ in Austin, Texas, will be on the MotoGP calendar in 2013, Kevin Schwantz motogp.com spoke to the ten-year agreement that will lead the World Championship to his home state.

Commenting on the new facilities currently under construction with completion scheduled for mid 2012 – the 500cc World Champion 1993, has expressed enthusiasm at the prospect of this new event in the global calendar.

“Seeing the development of these facilities, I’m really excited and I think it will be a very attractive route” has indicated to motogp.com Schwantz. “From the perspective of the pilot, which is how I see things, I think it will be a fantastic track. It will be a challenge, it will be safe and a nice long run. The drivers will have to work to get good chain laps and stay in front of the race. Schwantz’s involvement has been instrumental in helping to develop the circuit to make it suitable for motorcycle racing. Apart from the GP, the new circuit – to be the only “Level 1″ in the U.S. – Schwantz also provide the perfect place to house his successful Racing School.

“Having to navigate only 20 minutes to be at my school, in a world-class facilities is an ideal thing,” he said. “From the beginning I knew what these facilities could become and for us to have an enclosure that can host an event of World Championship level, and so close, here in Texas, will be something great.”

Orge Lorenzo
