England’s David Howell, with an impressive card of 64 strokes (seven under par of the field) has positioned itself as leader of the Irish Open Golf, played at the “Killarney Golf & Fishing Club” at the end of the first day.

In a stroke of Howell, who made an immaculate course with five birdies and an eagle (16th hole, a par five finish in three), are the Australian Richard Green and the Irishman Damien McGrane.

The best card delivered by a Spanish golfer was taken by Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano, who made 66 hits (-5), with five birdies and an eagle (also on the 16th hole) but with two faults: “bogeys “on holes 4 and 9.
