Elimination of Italy in World Cup 2010

After only a 1-1 draw against Paraguay and New Zealand, Italy, subdued at the hands of Slovakia 2-3 in the final game. GLI Azzurri were eliminated from the World Cup.

The result is exacerbated by the fact Italy became the caretaker Group F. This is the worst cut of their long history of participation in the World Cup.

Gianluca Zambrotta also accept defeat suffered by his team. Rather than making excuses, 33-year-old right-back was admitted if the Italians deserved eliminated.

“There is only one analysis: a decent keeper, and we lift the suitcase. (But) in the first two games we played pretty well and has given the best of our ability,” he said in Italian Football.

“Today we played badly in the first round, then we are better at half and could have escaped if it had a little luck.”

“But that’s not enough. So, each player must be responsible and accept this failure,” said Zambrotta.
