Neglecting the controversies and press pressure, it is difficult for any player in any game to keep themselves reserved in their games. But as a professional they cannot help but do that. It is hard to keep minds off the controversies that involve you and all the expectations that are being built around you if you’re a good performer.
Cade McNown had been through something similar during his brief NFL career as a quarterback. Despite landing himself into controversies as a quarterback, he always knew how to handle pressure on the field. As a new comer in the NFL format, he knew he had to prove himself and the Chicago Bears did give him a chance; he doesn’t seem to have disappointed them, instead proved a strong point with veterans and former officials of the clubs quoting all praise about Cade.
With only his second appearance for Chicago Bears, Cade won respect and confidence of people all around Chicago and officials and coaches respectively. He managed to complete 9 passes out of a total of 23 including an interception being thrown, but he was just fine as he was pulled out by his coach and he knew that he had enough time to prove himself on the field. With his leadership the Bears could only go till Bucs’ 28-yard line but he respected the decision of the coach as winning a match is more important to any team, any coach or any player. He received much praise with even Jauron being quoted saying that he had a very bright future.
